Here are some Care and Feeding tips for your Pure Pro products

This is an excerpt from an email reply Melissa wrote to a customer today:
"Pure Pro oils are completely natural with no preservatives or chemicals and have only natural Vitamin E added as an anti-oxidant, so they have a shelf life of 12 months.

In our creams and lotions, we use a minimum of non harsh and non skin-irritating preservatives to give them a shelf life of 18 months. Scented products may even hold up longer because the essential oils help to mildly 'preserve' the product.

We warranty the freshness of our products for 6 months from date of purchase under normal storage conditions (see policies page). We also provide a lot sticker on the bottom of the package with the lot number of the batch and a 'best if used by' date so that you can monitor the freshness of your item. Almost always the products are still fresh and fine to use beyond the 'best by' date, so it is intended as a helpful guideline and not an expiration date.

If you will use the products entirely within the shelf life period, it is sufficient to store them tightly capped in a cool place (below 65 degrees F ideally) and out of direct sunlight. If it will take longer to finish them, it is advisable to refrigerate the portion you want to keep fresh. Refrigeration will likely extend shelf life by another half (so an additional 6 months for oils and an additional 9 months for creams and lotions if done right away after purchasing). And it does not negatively affect the quality of the products. Oils will become cloudy, gelatinous and perhaps even solid when cold, but when they return to room temperature they will clarify. Our creams and lotions contain ingredients that keep them in suspension so they don't separate or crystallize, but if they do simply stir once at room temperature. We don't recommend freezing. (But for those in cold climates, if your products freeze while in transit to you - as does happen - allow them to gently return to room temperature and they should be fine.)
